FORM Water to Air Heat Pump / WSHP

Water-to-air heat pumps are packaged units and are also referred to as water source heat pumps (Water Source Heat Pump-WSHP). While heating and cooling the air in the indoor environment, they use water on the source side. If available, they use resources like lakes, rivers, seawater, underground water, etc.; if no water source is available, the system is designed using a cooling tower and boiler.

They are especially preferred in shopping malls, offices, and Shell & Core-type commercial buildings. The system stands out with high-efficiency operation and low energy consumption due to heat recovery between devices during simultaneous heating and cooling.

Why Water Source System?

Water is the most efficient way of energy transfer. A water-source heat pump is more efficient and smaller in size compared to air-source systems due to the much higher thermal conductivity of water.

The water volume in the pipes also serves as an energy reservoir. Since it allows operation at lower gas pressures, these are higher-efficiency systems.

WSHP System Initial Investment Advantages

The initial investment only includes a cooling tower, a smaller boiler, and a 2-pipe non-insulated piping system.

WSHP System Architecture and Application Advantages

Only a cooling tower is located outside the building, and multiple outdoor units are not used, saving space and preventing visual pollution.
The required technical room is smaller, saving space.
With the 2-pipe system, independent cooling/heating and heat recovery are performed simultaneously. The same comfort is achieved with 4-pipe or 3-pipe system solutions in other systems.
Thanks to the flexible design, installations can be made at different times without affecting each other. There is a solution option with horizontal and vertical units according to the interior decoration.
Wshp water line pipes are black welded pipes, and since they are not copper pipes, there are no welding issues. No need for large duct shafts.
There is no limitation on piping length.
