What is Package Air Conditioner (Rooftop)?

The devices that meet the fresh air requirement of the environment and can perform all heating, cooling and ventilation processes in a single unit and provide air conditioning in the space with ducts are called Rooftop Packaged Air Conditioners or Rooftop. Package air conditioner rooftop solutions are the best solution for single and large volume air conditioning applications. According to the ambient requirements, rooftop devices can operate with 100% fresh air. 

How does a Rooftop Air Conditioner Work?

Package air conditioning units consist of the combination of indoor and outdoor units, with the entire cooling or heating cycle taking place within the same unit in a compact design. They provide cooling-heating-fresh air control, ventilation, and filtration. They are divided into two groups: “Cooling only” or “Heat pump” = devices capable of both heating and cooling.

Heat Recovery Solutions Plate Heat Recovery
  • Provides the ability to recover energy from exhaust air thanks to a plate heat exchanger, cross-flow heat recovery, by-pass damper, and return fan.

  • Designed to work in Free-Cooling mode when heat recovery is not needed and protected against the risk of exhaust air freezing.

Heat Recovery Solutions Rotor Heat Recovery
  • Rotary type heat recovery unit offers the possibility of high-efficiency heat and/or moisture recovery from exhaust air.
  • 100% Fresh air solutions, Eurovent certified (EN 308).
  • Low freezing temperature.
  • There are 3 types of rotors: Long Aluminum, Enthalpic, and Sorption types.
  • In humid areas, Sorption type rotors (Sorption type) allow the highest level of sensible and latent heat transfer thanks to the hygroscopic coating.
  • Efficiency up to 80%.
